Parliament of the World’s Religions – 2018

Registration is now OPEN!

The next Parliament will be hosted by the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada on November 1-7, 2018, where more than 10,000 people of good faith and social conscience will convene. There will be seven days of fascinating plenaries featuring Nobel Laureates and other world leaders, at least 500 informative breakout sessions, cultural performances from musicians and dancers, art and photography exhibits, stirring calls to action, an expansive cultural bazaar, and hundreds of serendipitous opportunities to interact personally with people from around the world. Why should catholics attend? In 1965, in the final session of the II Vatican Council, the assembled bishops approved by a wide majority a statement known as Nostra Aetate (“In Our Time”). This document substantially changed the classical outlook in the Catholic Church regarding religious communities outside the parameters of Christianity. Hopefully by now you have received information regarding the National Workshop for Christian Unity (NWCU) which will be held May 1-May 4, 2017, at the Hilton Minneapolis Downtown, Minneapolis, MN.   • Board of Directors consists of Regional Representatives and Executive Committee, with voice and vote; 
  • standing committee chairs, ad hoc committee chairs, liaisons, and past presidents may attend, with voice and no vote.

CADEIO News ~ November 2016

Dear CADEIO members and associates, As we approach Thanksgiving and the beginning of Advent I wish to extend gratitude to all of you for your passion and work for Christian unity and interreligious affairs.  The Church continually progresses in the love and mercy of God as has been so evident this past year.  At the conclusion of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis presented his Apostolic Letter, Misericordia et misera (20 November 2016), in which he encourages all to remain on the path of mercy and justice as we journey together into the future renewed and full of hope.
